About Me

Former CIN President, Gabrielle "Gaby" Berbey, is one of the original members of club. She started participating in the benefit concerts sponsored by the club since she was an 8th grader.

Gaby started playing the violin at the age of five. Her major teachers included Dan Kristianson of the Marin Suzuki Strings and Li Lin of the San Francisco Music Conservatory. Her current teacher is Eugene Chukhlov of the San Domenico Music Conservatory. Gaby received the Gold Medal Award with Command Performance at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival from 2003-2007 held at the Sacramento State University and sponsored by the California Association for Music Education. She has participated at the Marin Youth Symphony Crescendo Workshop, Summer Music Berkeley at the Crowden Music Center, Summer Music West at the San Francisco Music Conservatory and more recently, at the International Youth Music Festival held in Oxford, England. There she had the privilege of playing with 40 other highly-gifted young musicians from the US and the UK where they performed at historical venues such as Christ Church Cathedral, Bleinheim Palace and the Oxford University Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Gaby has also visited the Philippines where she played for kids in various charitable children's organizations. In July of 2012, Gaby was selected as a winner of the Concerto Competition at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival in Waimea, Hawaii. She looks forward to travelling around the world to share her love for classical music. Gaby is a junior at the Branson School where she is a part of the Chamber Music Performance Seminar class.
